SMS marketing services company BeepCast
has launched BeepMe™, a virtual
'Beep Button' code placed on ads that
consumers can text to request more information
about the product or service featured
if they desire.
"Consumers can interact with traditional
advertising in a safe, spam-free environment,"
said John Smallwood, Director, BeepCast,
adding that the company provides a virtual
firewall to prevent advertisers from
accessing personal consumer information.
After being messaged, the ad 'responds'
by sending information back via SMS,
MMS, e-mail or post. Information requested
can include application forms, locations,
price information, special offers or
even complete
brochures. Advertisers only pay if their
ads are 'beeped', with additional costs
being for set up, administration, customised
reports and message updates.
BeepCast also provides additional tracking
services for advertisers and demographic
and psychographic information gathered
over numerous campaigns. "BeepCast
can advise what ads were beeped and
when, and advertisers can compare different
media, creative or locations for real
time tracking and analysis," said
Smallwood. BeepMe™ is currently
carrying out a campaign to educate consumers
on the spam-free nature of the service
as well as how to use it.
