Star Waves And The Environment

On 22nd June Star WavesTV held a Party at Singapore Velvet Under-ground to unveil its new environment time-belt bought off Channel i. BeepCast joined in the fun and helped out in the lucky draw, where the top prize was
a stay at a Bintan resort. The time-belt, titled Earth Beat, will start its 40-week run on Channel i Starting 1ST, July at 7pm.

AdAsia got a brief view of Earth Beat - a collaboration between The
Singapore Environment Council and Star Waves. TV with original programming focusing on the environment and the natural world of Singapore and the region.

Produced locally, the first series on Earth Beat is Biologic, a 30-minute
12-part series that showcases the beauty and importance of natural Singapore. Couch potatoes ride on the backs of two EJs (Earth Jockeys), Vijay and Sue-Lynn, as they go around Singapore discovering the wonders
of nature. Shell Singapore, as the first supporting partner to Earth Beat,
not only sponsored the programme, but also worked with the producers
to develop content for Biologic.

Star Waves.TV partnered with BeepCast to allow audience interactivity
with Earth Beat. Viewers can send an SMS to receive a menu that lets
them select activities, quizzes, or Biologic's TV schedule, among other
things. (The people from Beepcast and Star Waves.TV have assured us
that we won't... be spammed, and that our mobile numbers will remain private. Whew!) For the forgetful ones, they can also send off an SMS to
be reminded of when the show is airing.
